Post-Separation Abuse Awareness week

On September the 18th 2023 we will implement the start of a Post-Separation Abuse Awareness week with the aim of highlighting the prevalence, reality, impacts, challenging some myths and creating change. Poster for the event is attached.

With Post separation abuse now coming under the Coercive and controlling law of 2015 (starting from April 3rd 2023) we feel now is the time to raise as much awareness as possible because for the first time in law there can now be some accountability.

ALL of our clients and our team as a ‘by and for’ service have been subjected to this relentless type of abuse which can also have very tragic results and is an indicator in the 8 stages to homicide.

Sadly this type of abuse is still so often minimised, excused or misunderstood, we want to change that.

We are asking you to please share among your networks and to join us by taking part with the #PSAAW across your socials as well as wearing a Yellow ribbon/hosting events and awareness training.

Our new awareness video on Post Separation Abuse will also be released, we would be delighted if you could also share it far and wide during the week.

Awareness packs, ribbons and pin badges will also be available should anyone want some, please do let me know.
