Mother’s Day Hampers, March 2022
March saw another Mother’s day in the UK and this year thanks to the match funding from the Freemasons of Berkshire we were able to support over 35 local clients (and their families) to receive food and pamper hampers in time for the big day.
Many mum’s who are victim survivors of domestic abuse don’t always get to celebrate this special day, due to many reasons including finances, financial or economic abuse or children not being with them. The day may also have previously held some bad memories, so we wanted to create a little treat to show them how much they are appreciated and the amazing mums that they are!
We were able to do this with the support of our local delivery hero Luke (The green room building co) and funding as well as our team shopping and putting them together (which was such fun)
They were gratefully received and within the hampers as well as having a pamper set from Body shop there were chocolates, a full cream tea, flowers as well as activities for the kids and many food items.
One of our favourite feedback comments was from E aged 7 who said “Thanks for making my mummy so happy and us so we could show we love her; we didn’t make anything at school and I don’t have money”
Thank you again to all who helped make special moments on what can be a really hard day for many!
