Fun with Mum Christmas donation from Finchampstead Baptist Church
We are absolutely delighted to have been the chosen charity to benefit from this year’s carol concert at the FBC held on Christmas eve 2023. Their Community carols is always a fantastic event with family fun, carols, interactive games plus festive mince pies and mulled wine. Every year is full of praise, laughter and fun.
The staggering amount of £700 was raised by the kind donations of all attendees of the Carol concert, all funds going towards our ‘Fun with Mum’ groups.
These monthly sessions based in Wokingham are for Mums and their children who have been subjected to domestic abuse to be able to enjoy a fun filled time with arts, crafts, food and activities while creating networks and gaining additional support if needed.
The session includes multiple art and craft and sensory tables, a toddler soft play area, activities, comfy reading corner and much more for all ages and abilities including SEN children. With a focus on fun and reengaging, during and after abuse the fun can be sucked out of family life. This group helps provide ongoing, open ended support for children as well as meeting peers in similar situations.
All with the added bonus of dinner for all attending plus a huge variety of snacks. A huge thanks to all who donated to make this possible, we are so grateful and the feedback has been amazing from all attending.
