Domestic Abuse Prevention Convention 2024

On October 10th we held our annual one day conference covering the realities/impacts of abuse and how we can help to prevent as individuals and services as part of #DVAM (domestic violence awareness month)

The convention topics this year included Coercive control, Stalking, Domestic Abuse Act, Child to parent violence/abuse, DV/Sexual Violence and links to Urology, Domestic abuse within the Traveller community, so called ‘Honour based’ violence, forced marriage and honour killings.

This was delivered by inspirational survivors and multi-agency professionals at the top of their fields who shared their insights, lived experience and knowledge to Inspire, Educate and Empower all delegates whether individuals or part of an organisation by enhancing knowledge and providing useful tools for all to use, with resources available.

All speakers shared their wisdom, knowledge and hearts to all attendees and all talks were underpinned by how being trauma informed is essential for all as are effective responses for all victim-survivors.

Together we can all make a difference, big or small, to help others along their freedom journey, creating a trauma informed society and aiding an abuse free future by breaking the cycles and having the knowledge of how to use best practices to support/prevent abuse.

The convention was also opened and closed by our amazing, inspirational survivor Patrons, Anouska Lancaster, and Zoe Dronfield who shared some of the reasons they are proud to support Kaleidoscopic and our vision.

The day was such an amazing opportunity to network, learn and hear firsthand the impacts and different areas of abuse in our society, the feedback has been incredible about all aspects of the day and we are delighted to be back again next year on October 9th.

Thank you to all our incredible speakers, team, venue and attendees who made this day so phenomenal.
