Domestic Abuse During England Games

As a survivor led charity and team we know first hand the realities, increase as well as the current statistics around England matches. We really wanted to challenge some of the latest messaging around the football season.

Domestic abuse increases whether England wins, loses or draws when playing, while we want to highlight this as a charity we have also seen messages blaming the football itself. This isn’t the case as abuse is always a CHOICE by the perpetrator, they choose, who they choose how and they choose when, showing that as they don’t abuse everyone all the time it really is a choice they make.

It is also concerning that now we have had clients relay back to us that due to messaging around the statistics increases of abuse is becoming an expected part of the football season, something that should never be the case and why we wanted to highlight this.
