Our Founder and CEO receives Kings Honour, British Empire Medal
We are delighted that our Founder and CEO Vickie Robertson who was awarded the British Empire medal in the King’s Birthday Honours list for services to refugees and victims of domestic abuse has received her medal. Vickie was awarded her medal in a special ceremony held at Sandhurst Royal Military Academy by the Lord- Lieutenant Mr James Puxley CVO alongside a fellow BEM recipient. “The evening was spectacular and surreal” Vickie said after being totally surprised by the award and medal. The evening was attended by lots of military personnel and prestigious guests along with some of Vickie’s nearest and dearest. Having personally identified the gaps in the existing support for victim-survivors of abuse and services
for domestic abuse, combined with a widespread lack of awareness and training in this crucial area, Vickie was inspired to take action and founded Kaleidoscopic UK in 2019 to provide long term peer support, under her visionary leadership, providing hope and help for countless individuals within the country as well as challenging systems and creating needed change.
We are extremely proud of all Vickie has achieved and that this has been recognised by all including the King, in such a special way. We look forward to all the new challenges and expanding services and supporting more survivors of all ages.
